What is Self-myofascial release

Self-myofascial release (SMR) is a fancy term for self-massage to release muscle tightness or trigger points. It provides the user the ability to control the healing & recovery process; releasing trigger points & applying pressure to specific points on your body can assist with re-establishing proper movement patterns & pain free movement which will help enhance performance.

Deep compression helps to break up or relax tight muscles & adhesions formed between muscle layers & their surroundings. Imagine you are tenderizing your own muscles 👊 In an ideal world, they should be soft & supple
If you aren’t taking care of yourself outside of your resistance training you may experience loss of flexibility, adhesions & pain during movement - so make sure to spend a few minutes post-workout working on your mobility & enhancing your future performance.
